History & Development
"But you will not go out in haste, nor will you go as
fugitives, for the Lord will go before you and the God of
Israel will be your rear guard"
(Isaiah 52:12)
With the
promise of Isaiah 52:12 burning in our hearts, we stepped
into a new dimension on 26th August 1990. The name Kingdom
Ministries of Christ was given by God and our vision is to
proclaim and manifest God’s ways of living from the source
of the Christ life within.
Through June 1991 we acquired our first piece of land – 2.88
hectares – and we could see the strong hand of JEHOVAH JIREH
moving as we purchased the land cash, at a fraction of the
price.
On 21 July 1991 we had our first meeting in a mine complex
which met all our needs at that stage. A hall seating 600,
classrooms for Bible School, offices and a kitchen were all
part of the complex which we could use at no cost. The mine
complex would be our “home” for the next five and a half
years during which numbers increased and we experienced
God's grace and goodness.
By the end of 1994 work began on the foundations of the new
building on our acquired piece of land. On the Sunday
afternoon of 18th June 1995, the congregation gathered to
pray on the completed foundations. The building was
dedicated to the Lord on the 27th October 1997. All honour
and glory unto Him.
At the same time we received a mandate from the Lord to
establish a school for the community, established and built
on biblical principles and values. We erected premises and
began with a pre- and a primary school which now includes
secondary levels. We were also able to purchase a further 4
hectares adjoining our present property on which the schools
sports facilities are situated.
The first brick for the main 1500 seater auditorium was laid
in November 2000. The auditorium was completed and began
services on 31st January 2004. We have subsequently erected
a new high school premises on a 3.8 hectare piece of ground
we were able to acquire from the mines at no cost.
Through this period of development and growth many
ministries have been established focusing on the individual,
the family, the church and the community and in different
parts of the world.
We thank the Lord for His directive and faithfulness as He
led us to establish and build not owing any man anything and
to date all that He led us to do has been cash and we owe no
man anything. We rejoice in His goodness, an awesome
testimony in the community of Matjhabeng and the world.
May your Kingdom come through the lives of everything
touched by this community of believers to the glory of our
Lord. |
